On the yearly “THE CABINETMAKERS’ AUTUMN EXHIBITION 2011” KVIST displayed 4 different loudspeaker cabinets designed by Danish architects.
Most typical these cabinets are designed by engineers as a last step when designing new loudspeakers. With the exhibition in mind KVIST invited designers to present their ideas on how a loudspeaker cabinet shall look...
We are very pleased that so many designers have made their contribution, says Managing Director at KVIST Michael Kvist:
Normally it is the philosophy when creating loudspeakers, that “sound” is the main priority, and after that you try to “wrap it in” nicely; with more or less success. The most successful brands on the market are fully aware of how the product shall look like, but due to tradition and history, and not least limited knowledge of what is possible, only a few manufacturers include architectural design when making new cabinets. We have a desire to change this, and therefore we invited the designers to make their bid. The 4 models that are shown at the exhibition all represents new exciting solutions in moulded wood.”
